When roofing construction goes wrong

I’ve seen a LOT of sorry work. Lazy work. And just plain awful work, and this falls into all three categories. This is not how you do gutters people!

A client wanted to build out and finish their attic to make a bonus room for the kids to play, add a bathroom as well as a set of stairs to the main level. As I climbed into the attic, I thought I was seeing things so I turned on my flashlight. Nope, not going crazy. A previous contractor had framed an entire roof, rafters and all, over the existing roof. The old roofing system was STILL there. Shingles. Rafters. Everything! They had simply left it in place. I was shocked. The client the builder suggested leaving the old roof system to keep them on budget. So they did. Wow, just wow!

Talk about festive. We did a great deal of work in this building. One of the things I loved about them was how upbeat and festive they were. I mean, who puts a Christmas tree in the restroom for everyone to enjoy!!
